Refund policy
Version 2026-08.3 · Effective 19 August 2026
The short version. You have 30 days to change your mind: cancel any article a writer has not started and get that article's price back. Once someone is writing, it is not automatically refundable — but you have 2 free revisions per article, and if it is still not right after that, we will look at it by hand.
This policy is part of our terms of service.
1. Who refunds you
This depends on how you paid, and both routes end in the same place.
If you paid by card, Lemon Squeezy, LLC is our merchant of record: it took your payment, and it issues your refund. We authorise the refund; they send the money back to the card or account you paid from. That usually shows up within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. The charge appears on your statement as LEMSQZY*.
If you paid an invoice by bank transfer, Joseph Omaita, trading as Baboon Ventures refunds you directly, by transfer back to the account the payment came from. We will ask you to confirm those details before sending it. International transfers usually settle within a few business days, and your bank may take longer to show it.
Refunds are made in US dollars, the currency you were charged. If your bank converted that into another currency, the exchange rate it applies on the way back is between you and your bank.
2. Changing your mind
You have 30 days from the date of purchase to change your mind about any article on your order that a writer has not started. Cancel it and you get that article's price back in full, no reason required.
Treat the 30 days as a floor, not a deadline. We do not run a clock on this: an unstarted article stays cancellable for as long as it is unstarted, however long that turns out to be. The 30 days is what you can rely on; in practice you have longer.
What this does not cover is an article somebody has already written for you. Section 4 is what applies there.
3. Cancelling articles that have not been started
An article stays Waiting for writer until a writer claims it. While it is in that state you can cancel it — one row, or many at once — from the order.
- The refund is the number of cancelled articles × the per-article price recorded on your order at checkout. Not a current price, not an average: the price you actually agreed to.
- The row moves to Cancelled — refund processing, and to Refunded once the money is on its way back — when the card processor confirms it, or when we have sent the transfer on an invoiced one.
- Cancelling articles does not cancel the rest of the order. The articles still being written carry on.
4. Articles already being written or edited
Once a writer has claimed an article, it is no longer cancellable from the dashboard. Someone is doing the work, and they are paid for it whatever happens afterwards.
What you have instead is the review step. When the article reaches you as Ready for your review:
- Request a revision — 2 per article, free. Say what is wrong and it goes back to the same writer, then through editing again.
- Still not right after both? The option becomes Contact support, and a person reads the thread. Depending on what happened we will arrange a further revision at our cost, a rewrite by a different writer, or a refund of that article. We decide that case by case, and we do not make you argue for it.
5. What is not refundable
- Completed articles. Marking an article complete — or letting it complete automatically at the end of its review window — closes the revision cycle for it, so it is no longer refundable as a matter of course. Mark an article complete when you are happy with it; that is what the button means, and the dialog says so. If something was wrong with it that you could not reasonably have seen at the time, section 8 still applies: ask, and a person will read it.
- Articles already posted to your WordPress site on an order with auto-posting enabled. Those finalize about 30 seconds after an editor approves; after that, editing happens on your site.
- Results. We do not promise search rankings, traffic or any other outcome from publishing, so we do not refund against them. What we owe you is an article written to your brief and approved by an editor.
6. Things that are not really refunds
- An unpaid checkout. If you start checkout and do not pay, it expires after 24 hours and the order goes back to draft. You were never charged; there is nothing to refund.
- A duplicate or mistaken charge. Tell us and we will refund it in full. That is a billing error, not a cancellation.
- An order we refuse or stop. If we decline an order under section 4 of the terms, or cannot deliver it, we refund every article that had not been started.
7. Chargebacks
Please talk to us before your bank. Email support@aipenpen.com and say what happened — we would much rather fix it.
A chargeback puts the whole order on hold: articles nobody has started stop being available to writers until the claim is resolved. Work already delivered stands and remains payable, and the writers and editors who did it keep their earnings either way.
8. How to ask
Cancel unstarted articles yourself from the order — it is immediate. For anything else, you have two routes, and either is fine:
- Email support@aipenpen.com with your order reference and what you would like us to do. We reply within two business days.
- If you paid by card, you can also ask Lemon Squeezy, LLC directly — their help centre handles billing questions for every payment they process, and a request there reaches us. Quote the order reference on your receipt. Invoiced orders are not with them at all, because they never handled the money — email us instead.
9. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live, including any right to cancel that applies to you by law.
